Inexpensive Family Photo Dress Options

It’s that time of year for family photos! You’re either on top of it and have already taken them and have your holiday cards planned out or you’re scrambling last minute to get something together before your shoot. Trying to find coordinating outfits for the whole family can be stressful and expensive. I usually try to start with an outfit for myself and build from there, choosing for my husband and step daughter after. For photos I tend to pick dresses because they’re a little more fun. I try to go with something that will be flattering and will define my waistline. This year I didn’t want to be too dressy and wanted to try a new color palette, I’ve been going with creams/whites and pops of bright red the last few years. This year I thought I’d try a more muted green, red and tan palette. I was surprised at how may affordable and cute options there were at Old Navy. I ended up with this green leaf print dress, but bought a number of others that just seemed good to have, either for photos or just for the season. I've linked a number of options below including many I bought for myself.

For my husband, we went with basics he already owned – khaki pants, a white button up and a wool vest we got in England. For Olivia, I found tons of options at Old Navy as well which is great because it's affordable and kids grow out of stuff so quickly. She doesn't typically wear dresses, so while I wanted us to all be a little more put together than usual, I also wanted her to wear something she'd be comfortable in. I’m not posting any photos of the whole family quite yet since I like to the holiday cards to be a bit of a surprise, but stay tuned!
