The Perfect Sweater Dress

Your struggle with sweater dresses ends here! I love the idea of a sweater dress. They’re warm and cozy, but a little more dressed up than just wearing a sweater and pants. They’re great for the office or dressed up for holiday get togethers. My only issue has been that they aren’t usually cut right for my body type. I don’t want one that super fitted and shows everything, but the larger oversized sweater looking dresses are not flattering on me at all. Then I came across this Eliza J sweater dress at Nordstrom (old, similar here). I’d never seen a more “fit and flare” style sweater dress and it’s perfect. It’s fitted on top so it gives you definition, but it has a fuller skirt making it more comfortable and flattering – especially if you want to wear tights with it. I don’t know about you, but no matter the size tights I get, they always seem to squeeze me a little on top and it shows when I’m wearing thinner materials or more fitted dresses. Now that I’ve started looking I’m seeing this style more. I’ve linked a few other options below and will definitely be purchasing more of this style.
