Easter Tablescape

This year, I wanted to host an Easter brunch at our house for both of our families. It has been a while since I did any hosting and with it being Levi’s first Easter I thought it was the perfect excuse. It also turned out to be the most gorgeous day and made me so excited for Spring weather.

I stumbled across these faux moss bunnies at Target in the “dollar” section (is anything a dollar in there anymore?) and instantly knew I wanted them. I can’t seem to find the exact ones online, but here are similar. I hadn’t decided on a theme for the brunch tablescape yet, but these just jumped out at me and ended up being what I based the whole table off of. I love how perfectly Spring they feel and decided I wanted the table to be bright, cheerful and playful like the bunnies. I pulled out an old purple and white tablecloth that I usually use on our round kitchen table because the colors felt just right for Easter and I ended up putting it on a diagonal on our dining table which I think worked out better than I thought it would.

I knew I wanted a lot of colorful flowers and so of course I made a trip to Trader Joes and it did not disappoint. I wish you could smell these through the computer because they were just phenomenal. The center vase was an antique store find, but the plain glass vases and little bud vases are from Goodwill. If you ever need simple glass vases, that is really the most economical way to go. They always have tons in all shapes and sizes. Our local store looked like they had collected from multiple weddings or events, they had so many.

Going through my extensive napkin collection, I pulled out a couple different options and landed on alternating light blue gingham with a raw edge (similar here) and yellow and white striped napkins. I’d seen some Easter table inspiration with the napkins folded to make bunny ears around an egg and although my husband thought they look like upside down peasant girls, I still think they turned out cute. I used these wooden eggs (also from Target, similar here).

We use these woven placemats all the time and I love the texture they add to the table. I’ve been able to dress them up or down and reach for them often.

I stopped by HomeGoods (surprise, surprise) to see what they had for plates. I’ve seen so many darling bunny plates for Easter and was really tempted, but by the time I went to look they had moved on from Easter decor which probably turned out for the best because with limited storage space for all my tabletop decor, I can’t really afford to have bunny plates that I’d only use for Easter each year. Instead, I ended up with these pretty melamine wisteria plates. The colors were just perfect and can be used all Spring and Summer. Plus, being melamine, they’ll be great for outdoor dining too! I don’t see them on HomeGoods website, but doing a quick search for them I found some on Ebay and other sites, just search “The Farmhouse Rachel Ashwell melamine wisteria plates” or switch “wisteria” or “lilac” or “lavender” (I’ve seen them listed as both even though I’m pretty positive they’re wisteria).

The blue glasses were a gift from my mom. She had bought them from an artist who handmade them years and years ago and I’d always admired them, when I mentioned that I was looking for something similar she told me she had more in the garage and offered them to me! Aren’t moms the best?
