Candy-Colored Stripes

Outfit details: Loft sweater, Madewell jeans, Ecco shoes

It’s been a while since I’ve felt into any current trends. I find myself wanting to stay current, but classic, buying pieces I know I can keep in my closet for a long time. Maybe I’m just getting older, but majority of the style trends in the last few years seem to be geared towards teens (in my opinion, of course). But one trend in the last few months that I have been able to get on board with is wearing cardigans buttoned up as shirts. I always love a sweater and find v-necklines more flatter on my body than crewnecks, so this seems like the perfect style for me. I love this sweater because it’s a thicker knit so keeps me cozy while it’s still cold, but the colorful stripes make it feel more playful and will carry me into Spring. While I’m not usually a cropped top person, but this hits me in just the right spot (I do however have a short torso, so it might be more cropped on someone with a longer torso!).

I also recently got these barely straight leg jeans—another trend I’m just dipping my toe into. I do still wear my skinny jeans and find them most flattering, but I liked the idea of having a slightly more straight leg jean as well. This pair is so so comfortable. It’s my first from this brand and now I get what the hype is about. They are a thicker denim, but buttery soft and stretchy! And they keep their shape all day.

Post-pregnancy has been all about comfort and my Ecco’s are just the most comfortable sneaker I’ve ever worn. I recently did a big purchase of a bunch of other white sneakers to see what else was out there and returned them all, they just didn’t compare.
