Winter Snow Outfits

I’ve never lived in the snow (and imagine I’d have a hard time with it), but I LOVE visiting. There’s something so magical about snow covered trees and as long as I’m dressed warmly, I could stay out in it for hours. The trick is finding the right layers to be comfortable, but also cute (cause who doesn’t want to feel cute). I feel like it’s so much easier these days to find stylish winter weather clothes. I probably own too many considering I don’t live anywhere that cold. But we’re lucky to be able to visit Lake Tahoe in the winter at least once a year. We drove up for a long weekend last week and I was able to pack some fun (and warm) sweaters and accessories, including this new striped sweater from Banana Republic.

I’ve talked about this coat (old, similar here) already, but I love the way it cinches at the waist to look a little more flattering while being long and extremely warm. These Sorel boots are also a must. They keep my feet incredibly warm, even while stomping through the snow. I wore them in negative temperatures last February in Canada, so I know they really work!

I realized that having a neutral coat and pants and boots can leave me looking pretty boring in all of our vacation pictures so I wanted to punch it up a bit with a fun colored sweater (old, similar here) and bright beanie that couldn’t be missed. I bought them separately, but they ended up matching so well.

These leggings are actually meant to be a base layer and were super comfy and warm, both on their own and under snow pants. I once again decided to break away from my traditional habit of buying neutrals to get them in this pretty eggplant color.
