Transitional Fall Tops
It seems like fall has finally reached Northern California! I thought we were moving that direction a few weeks ago, but it was just a tease of a few cooler days followed by more 80° weather. Temperatures have dropped this week and we’re getting some of that cool, crisp air I’ve been craving. I love this time of year and yet every year I always get East Coast fall envy when I start to see photos pop up with autumnal hues in the trees and outfits that include boots and sweaters. So even though the temperatures stay warmer here through September and October, I still strive to find ways to transition from my summer wardrobe to fall, while keeping in mind that the temperatures outside haven’t quite gotten there yet. No one wants to go to a pumpkin patch in their summer attire! (Or at least I don’t!)
Espresso and chocolate browns are everywhere right now and when I saw this floral brown puff sleeve top, I knew I needed it. The colors are perfectly autumnal, but the light weight fabric and short sleeves make it a great transition piece now and will continue to work with a cardigan or barn jacket over it as it continues to cool. I love the burnt red hues of this one and the slightly longer sleeve on this top, but with a similar style. Dark green works in all seasons in my opinion and this one would be just as cute over a skirt as it would be with jeans. If florals aren’t what you’re looking for, this linen chocolate brown top looks classic and timeless. And the covered buttons on this one are chic and make it easy to dress up or down.
