Summer Glow

Who doesn’t love a summer glow? I always feel better when I have a little bit of color, but since laying out in the sun is a big no-no anyway, sunless tanner is the way to go – plus then you can have a healthy glow all year long! I’m naturally very fair, but somehow feel like having a tan looks natural on me. I always feel more confident when I have a tan, but it’s tricky to find one that’s the right color for you.

I’ve tried a lot of different self tanners, from mist sprays to lotions to foaming mousses. In the past I’ve used the Bondi Sands foaming mousse and like the color a lot, but like most tanners, you have to keep it on over night and so it gets onto your sheets (although it washes out) and leaves you feeling sticky. I still use it occasionally, because I do like the color and feel like it goes on well, but was looking for something new to try that wouldn’t rub off on my clothes or sheets.

Beauty by Earth tanning lotion goes on really smoothly, has a fainter smell than most of the other tanners I’ve tried, wont rub off on your sheets and is made of natural ingredients. Plus, it’s a gradual tanner, so rather than putting it on before bet, I’ve been doing it in the morning, giving it about 10 minutes before putting clothes on, but then going about my day as usual and the tan starts to slowly appear through out the day! This is a lotion and so the one downside is that it starts out white so you can’t see where you have already applied, but just try to be sure to rub in everywhere! Right now, they’re offering an awesome buy-one-get-one sale with code: BOGOTAN.

No matter what tanner you decide to try, you need an applicator mitt! These are game changers and help you to avoid streaking. I have this Ultimitt applicator from Amazon, it’s held up well and you know I’m a sucker for a pun!

Isle of Paradise tanning drops
Beauty by Earth tanning lotion

I’ve talked about these Isle of Paradise tanning drops in this post and I still try to use them 2 times a week, it gives me such a nice color and helps with my naturally dark under eye circles. I have the medium shade and add 2-3 to my moisturizer. A couple of tips I have: 1) blend the drops with your moisturizer by lightly patting them together and 2) rub all over your face, avoiding your upper lip at first and do that area last, this helped me to avoid looking like I have a bit of a mustache!
