Planning a trip to the pumpkin patch is an October must—I’ve even been known to go more than once. This year October seemed to zoom by, but we still managed to go once for pumpkins and once for a trip through the hay maze. I don’t know what was different this year, but both times the pumpkin patches were SO crowded (and we even tried two different places!). Maybe it was an outdoor activity that people felt safe doing so they all flocked to the patch this year? I mean I know they can always get busy, but this was next level. So the crowds plus the fact that it was still pretty warm outside when we went made it less than ideal. It didn’t stop me from spending over $100 on pumpkins for our porch though. I wore some fall wardrobe staples, a plaid shirt, jeans and booties.

One of my favorite stores to get classic, well-fitting plaid shirts is JCrew Factory. The price is always right and the prints work well all fall and winter long. Whether you want a cozy flannel, like the one I wore to the pumpkin patch or are looking for something a bit more structure for work like this gingham in the perfect shade of green, they always have something. I’ve gathered a few others I have and few more I have my eyes on below!
