Post Holiday Blues, Anyone?

Is anyone else feeling the post holiday blues? I know New Years isn’t even here yet, but we aren’t doing much for it this year and so it kind of already feels over! Half of the lights on our Christmas tree went out and the garland hanging in our kitchen fell down so it’s as if even the house is telling us that the holidays are over! Starting this blog right before the holidays was super fun because it was a way to document and really experience the season fully. Plus, everywhere you looked there were festive decorations which made for fun photos (my favorite part!). But honestly, now I’m feeling a little nervous about keeping up the momentum to continue content throughout the rest of winter. I feel like it’s a similar thing that happens with my winter outfits after the holidays – during November and December it’s all exciting outfits, there are holiday parties and occasions to dress up, your winter clothes feel fresh and new, there’s lots of red and green and plaids and sparkles, and then after the holidays I usually get boring, neutrals and more sweaters and it all feels the same and unexciting. Here’s to hoping that I can stay inspired (and hopefully inspire others!) well into the rest of winter and beyond!

This look is still pretty simple, my husband said it really looks like I’m about to go riding, but I’m kind of okay with that. All of these pieces are currently on sale and super comfortable and easy to throw on. This sweater is all cotton which I love since in the last few years I’ve realized any amount of wool in a sweater makes me itchy. It’s a great neutral, although am I the only one that has trouble with navy tops because I own so many jeans and struggle with what color pants to wear them with? White denim is a simple solution always (although they always seem to get dirty immediately!).

I’ve owned these Frye boots forever, they’re a bit of an investment, but are such good quality they will really last you forever. I’ve had mine cleans and buffed a couple of times but they are still in great condition after 5+ years!
