Fall Date Night Style

We went to a nice French restaurant for date night the other night and I wanted something that felt more dressed up than my regular outfits, but that I’d still feel comfortable and warm in throughout the night. I decided boots were a must since it’s finally begun to cool down and chose these Marc Fisher brown boots (they’re old so limited sizes available - similar option here). I paired it with a midi-length, olive-colored wrap dress from Old Navy.

Years ago, I never would have worn boots with a longer hemline and would have always wanted a little gap to show in-between the bottom of the dress/skirt and the boots, but these days I’m totally digging the look. I think the trick is to make sure your boots are slim and not bulky when paired with longer dresses and skirts. It’s still a style I’m experimenting with, but something I’ll continue to try.
